Universal healthcare refers to a health care system which pays for the health care of all the members of a geographic or political body irrespective of their health or financial status. Each universal health care system varies from another as for as services covered are concerned. Some cover services completely while other cover partially or not at all.
The funds may be from public or private contributions. It may also be from a combination both. Many countries like Germany, France, and Japan follow a multi payer system in which funds are accrued by the public and private contributions.
Some countries also follow a single payer system. It refers to a kind of financing system in which a single entity in particular, a government -run organization takes care of the administration. It typically collects all the healthcare fees and pays for the costs. Single payer finance system is employed by many countries like Denmark, Sweden, Canada etc
