Increased Premiums result in increase of Health Risk Assessments

Health insurance is a welfare measure that every employer would like to implement for his employees. In this context a study made by Watson Wyatt Worldwide has finally arrived at a decision that this practice will go uninterrupted in the forthcoming years also. They also forecast a rise in the number of "health risk assessments" (HRA's) performed on various employees by their respective employers. Already a huge rise is witnessed in many places in many places and many people have taken to the threshold by offering HRA's and linking participation to incentives. This can happen by way of reduced healthcare plan and contributions or free gifts.

There are several issues which make their bosses to worry about the health of the employees. Firstly innumerable health problems which arise due to the modern mechanized workforce besides the luxuries available in the present technological world deserve mention. Another encouraging fact is that many people are concerned about having to analyze the root cause and as well as provide remedies. For instance if obesity ,stress and poor health occur the best solution would be to relax the working atmosphere and offer facilities like gymnasium and centers for meditation and others. As a matter of fact some employers even have the practice of offering incentives to the employees for finishing a questionnaire on health care risk assessment. Similarly if the health of an employee is improved during the due course and if it calls for reduction in the amount of premiums paid on him by the employer due to good health the employee is rewarded accordingly. The HRA assessment varies from company to company.
