Health of 46 million at risk
It is a well-known fact that many Americans are still underinsured or not insured at all. This goes for several types of insurances but the most significant problem is under insurance when it comes to health insurance plans. Many Americans simply cannot afford to pay for (often expensive) health care plans. On top of that most people living on a low income are insured for only basic care. This may mean that people still have to pay a large percentage of their own health expenses in case of medical emergencies or an accident.
For over two years now a group of people like lawyers, doctors and careers in general have been working on a campaign and plan to make the government see that health care tax percentages are lowered and that there is a significant expansion of government plans for those who cannot pay for health insurance at all.
The new Congress is now involved with a large number of legislation processes and conferences about situations that badly need the attention of politicians. There are
currently over 46 million uninsured people in the USA because of poverty and this, according to the people who are promoting the new health care plans, is simply unacceptable.
The people involved in the construction of this new plan are professionals who (out of experience) know what they are talking about. The group includes members of the ARP, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and also, and maybe more importantly, the American Medical Association.
The very first priority of the group is to focus on children and childrens' special health care needs. Children are simply ill less often according to the Health Coverage Coalition for the Uninsured. The public of course supports health care covering children and in most cases health care for kids is less expensive to cover than, for example, health care for older people.
